In saddening new it is reported that a passenger jet from Indonesia crashed in to the Java Sea on Saturday with 62 passengers aboard. On Sunday the black box was found that could answer questions as to why the plane crashed.

Military Chief Hadi Tjahjanto says that they are sure of where the plane has crashed and that they hope to get the black box to understand and determine the cause for the plane to crash.

Four minutes into the Sriwijaya flight that departed Jakarta headed towards Borneo the plane lost contact with air traffic control and dropped 10, 00 feet in 20 seconds. There were no survivors from this crash as divers found body parts from adult as well children when they were diving to find the black box.

Investigations would be carried out by the country’s national Transport Safety Committee Joko Widodo the Indonesian President said. Further he told the media “I represent the government and all Indonesians in expressing my deep condolences for this tragedy.”

Boeing released a statement where they claimed that their thoughts are with the passengers and their families, as well as the fact that they are ready to stand by and support the customers and their families in this difficult time.

The 737 Max has been a problematic vessel for Boeing who had very negative reviews on it as there were crashes in 2018 in Indonesia and Ethiopia in 2019. This Indonesian airline had no issues with the craft and has been operating since 2003 with zero passenger fatality until the crash on Sunday.

There were plane crashes from low budget airlines that caused concern as to if they crashed because they were low budget and they did not have sufficient funds to maintain higher standards of vessel quality. This was proved to be correct once investigation were complete. But it should be mentioned that steps were taken to improve these conditions and the bans placed on these low budget aircrafts have been lifted in the recent years.
