Borrowers focusing less on origination fees?

LONDON (CU)_Borrowers in the United Kingdom may be paying more attention to interest rates, instead of origination fees when choosing a suitable mortgage deal for them, the Bank of England (BoE) says. In a staff working paper that was published recently, the central bank said borrowers, especially in young households with lower incomes, may be more sensitive to interest rates than fees in their mortgage choices. “Overall, the demand parameters suggest that borrowers may be shopping across lenders and across products for low interest rates focusing less on origination fees,” the apex bank concluded.
