UK (Commonwealth Union)_ A 10-year-old Indian-British boy from Hounslow, West London, has recently garnered international attention for his remarkable intelligence. With an IQ of 162, Krish Arora surpasses the estimated IQ scores of two of history’s greatest minds, Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking, who are often believed to have IQs around 160. Accordingly, Krish’s impressive score places him in the top 1 percent of the most intelligent individuals globally. This extraordinary achievement is not the only indication of Krish’s brilliance. He has also displayed exceptional abilities from an early age, reading fluently at the age of four and effortlessly solving complex math problems.

Additionally, his academic achievements have earned him a spot in Mensa, the society for individuals with high IQs. Speaking candidly about his academic journey, Krish described his experience with the 11-plus exams, a standardized test for grammar schools in the UK, as too easy. He said, “I don’t learn anything at primary school. All we do is multiplication and write sentences all day. I like to do algebra”, highlighting his preference for more challenging subjects. This sentiment reflects his eagerness to move on to Queen Elizabeth’s School in Barnet, a prestigious grammar school he will be joining soon. He looks forward to the academic challenges the school will provide.

Krish’s parents, Mauli and Nischal Arora, both engineers, first noticed his remarkable abilities when he was just four years old. Mauli, who works in the IT industry, fondly remembered Krish’s early signs of brilliance. Mauli said, “The things he was doing when he was just four were far above what a four-year-old should be able to do. He could read fluently, his spelling was excellent, and he had always been good at mathematics”. He added, “I remember just before he turned four, he sat with me for three hours and completed an entire maths book. He was doing decimal divisions at the age of four.”

Krish’s talents extend beyond academics. He is also a talented musician, excelling in the piano. Trinity College of Music inducted him into the Hall of Fame after he completed four piano grades in just six months, and he has won awards in musical competitions across West London. Currently, Krish holds a grade 7 piano certificate and continues to perform in music competitions, often outperforming older contestants. He is known for his ability to recall and perform intricate pieces from memory without relying on sheet music. Krish said, “I do not get nervous about performing my music at these competitions because I am confident that I am not going to mess up,” displaying a level of confidence far beyond his years.

In addition to his musical and academic prowess, Krish has shown exceptional problem-solving skills. His teacher, recognizing his abilities, has entrusted him with helping classmates, particularly in math lessons. Krish also enjoys solving puzzles and crosswords in his spare time, further developing his analytical skills. He has recently begun taking chess lessons, where he has already started defeating his instructor, further demonstrating his remarkable ability to think strategically. Although Krish excels in both music and mathematics, his passion for math stands out. He has expressed a strong desire to pursue a career in a math-related field in the future, showcasing his determination to continue pushing the boundaries of his intellect. Furthermore, Krish’s twin sister, Keira, is similarly gifted. Four top grammar schools have accepted her, demonstrating the exceptional academic abilities within the Arora family.

When not engaged in academic pursuits, Krish enjoys spending time with his friends, and he is a fan of the TV show Young Sheldon, a show about a young genius. Krish’s parents are proud of their son’s accomplishments but remain grounded, recognizing that their son’s extraordinary abilities are just the beginning of a promising future. Mauli said, “Whatever Krish does, he wants to excel. He has always had a passion for learning and is constantly looking for ways to challenge himself.” Krish’s achievements are a shining example of what can be accomplished when extraordinary talent is nurtured from a young age. With his intelligence, musical prowess, and passion for learning, Krish Arora is undoubtedly a name to watch in the years to come.
