Ontario, Canada (CU)_ Burns & Wilcox, a wholesale insurance brokerage and underwriting business, has established an exclusive agreement with Loadsure, a worldwide insurtech managing general agent and Lloyd’s coverholder, in Canada.
As part of the deal, Burns & Wilcox will act as the exclusive wholesale representative in Canada to extend Loadsure’s AI-powered, on-demand, pay-as-you-go trip transit insurance coverage to nationwide independent brokers. This policy is customized for the over-the-road trucking industry and businesses and insureds that require the transportation of commodities through land, air, or sea.
Jodie Kaufman Davis, executive vice president at H.W. Kaufman Group and president at Burns & Wilcox Canada, expressed optimism over the company. He said, “At Burns & Wilcox, we strive to provide the best coverage for our clients while ensuring success for the future, including the use of tech-based platforms like Loadsure”.

According to Davis, Loadsure’s automatic method to getting coverage keeps pace with the changing demands of shippers, brokers, and carriers and that the product may successfully augment annual-based insurance.
Fernando Batista, associate manager of transportation at Burns & Wilcox Canada, expressed excitement over the partnership. He said, “We are excited to deploy this capability to our broker partners across Canada as it will dramatically reduce a broker’s response times to their customer’s single load coverage requirements and showcase the greater need for usage-based insurance options”.
One of the largest subsidiaries of H.W. Kaufman Group is Burns & Wilcox. Daniel J. Kaufman was appointed as president of Burns & Wilcox in December 2021. Kaufman formerly held the position of chief operating officer, which he held since 2018.
