Ankara, Turkey (CWBN)_ An earthquake of a 7.0 magnitude occurred the coastal city of Izmir, Turkey, lasting around 25-30 seconds, and authorities have ,thus, far confirmed that four people were killed and 120 others were injured during the disaster.
The incident that led to as twenty building collapses in the area and much property damage, was reportedly felt as far as Istanbul and in several Greek islands. 70 people have been rescued from beneath the rubble.
Moreover, there have been several reports that the sea level in the region rose as a result of the earthquake, causing “small tsunamis”. Greek media has also claimed that several residents of Samos Island have been swept into the sea.
