They are fleeing the brutal Russian advances into Ukraine! They are fleeing their country! They are fleeing their homes! They are getting separated from their families. They have lost everything they owned. Mere refugees overnight. Taking shelter in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and other neighbouring countries. Hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians with children and aged grandparents have been displaced and seeking your support.

They need food, medicine, water, and the basic needs of life as they struggle to come to terms with the new realities of their lives in unfamiliar lands. They need your support and financial assistance.

Today, more than ever before, war and invasion cannot be legitimised as a means of statecraft, and the very notion of doing so stands in stark contrast to the values and principles that undergird the Commonwealth and the world as we know it” says… Baroness Patricia Scotland, PICTURE Sec Gen of the Commonwealth Secretariat

Nirj Deva former MP and MEP who was for 15 years Vice President of the European parliament Development and Humanitarian Committee  PICTURE Publisher of the Voice of the Commonwealth, https://www.commonwealthunion.com  said

“In the last century the Commonwealth came to the rescue of British and European freedoms and liberty on two occasions in two world wars suffering nearly a million casualties, all volunteers from Commonwealth countries. We must come to help them again. They need food, medicine, water, and the basic needs of life as they struggle to come to terms with the new realities of their lives in unfamiliar lands. They need our support and financial assistance. Please give generously and safely directly to our Appeal run by the International Red Cross and Caritas in Poland Diocese.”
