ENGLAND (Commonwealth Union) – There comes a time when decisions have to be made and some of them cause more inconvenience than others. The Leeds London council has made the decision to redo all their gas pipes since they are old and rotting.
This means that the aged metal pipes that provide gas will have to be manually removed and replaced by the brand-new plastic ones. This may sound easy enough but the turmoil this will cause on the roads with blockage will be an absolute nightmare for anyone using the road.
Of course, this is done for the sole purpose of providing a safer and reliable supply of gas to the entire area. However, the inconvenience of it all is what will be spoken about in the times to come. The council has made sure to take all steps necessary to make sure it’s a smooth transaction and that people will not be too inconvenienced by it.
The problem is that even if this were to be carefully planned the traffic is the same on a week day as it would be a weekend. This is not some road repair that can even be done in night time; this is a gas pipe replacement and not just a few meters but a long distance. To make sure that it is safe and there are no leaks or any thing that would cause harm the replacement has to be done as carefully and quickly as possible, which is not an easy task but the council is trying their best to do so.
As a solution to this road block problem the council has made an extra effort to name the roads that may be affected by the pipe replacement. This means that the people using those roads for their daily commute to work, school and other various activities can maybe make other arrangements or find different routes to take.
