Domino Printing Sciences spearheads with Mx-Series

-

(Commonwealth)_ Domino Printing Sciences has recently unveiled its latest innovation, the Mx-Series print and apply labeling machines, aimed at meeting the increasing demand for robust product labeling solutions that facilitate quick and accurate data sharing within global supply chains.

The surge in the need for traceability has driven Domino to develop the Mx-Series, specifically designed for fully integrated, automated, and GS1-compliant coding of products and pallets. Customer feedback from testing underscored two significant advantages of the Mx-Series printers. Firstly, the machines boast high-speed variable data printing capabilities, purportedly up to ten times faster than their predecessors in the print and apply labeller category. Secondly, the printers offer enhanced connectivity options, promoting seamless data sharing. These printers provide variable data capabilities and Industry 4.0 connectivity, allowing for efficient data collection and sharing throughout supply chains. The advanced connectivity and configuration options include features such as machine vision for automated code inspection and validation, as well as coding automation for improved data sharing, including integration into factory MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.

In stressing the vital importance of precise and consistent product labeling in the global logistics sector, Jan Lindgren, the Customer Operations and Site Director at Domino, has highlighted the strategic significance of the industry 4.0 ready Mx-Series print and apply labellers crafted by Domino. Lindgren has articulated that these advanced machines are not only a response to the pressing need for accurate labeling but have been intentionally designed to meet the imperatives of the evolving industry landscape. The Mx-Series, as articulated by Lindgren, stands out for its capability in fully-variable data coding, a feature integral to ensuring that labels are printed to exact customer specifications. This level of customization is pivotal, especially in industries with diverse product ranges and specific labeling requirements. Furthermore, recognizing the collaborative nature of modern supply chains, the Mx-Series printers are engineered to offer comprehensive connectivity options. Lindgren emphasized that these connectivity features facilitate seamless data sharing with supply chain partners, aligning with the demands of a globally interconnected logistics ecosystem.

To enhance versatility and adaptability, the Mx-Series printers have been meticulously designed to suit diverse production environments. Notably, they feature a more compact overall footprint compared to their predecessors in the print and apply labeller category. The range includes printers with both left and right-hand options, offering 4” and 6” printheads, as well as a choice between tamp and swing applicators. The availability of different variants ensures that the Mx-Series can cater to a wide array of applications and operational requirements. This thoughtful design approach reflects Domino’s commitment to providing solutions that align with the dynamic needs of modern manufacturing and logistics. The Mx-Series not only addresses the necessity for accurate product labeling but also focuses on user flexibility and efficiency in varying production scenarios. The inclusion of different configurations and options signifies Domino’s dedication to delivering a versatile and adaptable printing solution for businesses across diverse industries.

Domino anticipates introducing additional customizable features, including different applicator types and expanded connectivity options, in the coming months. Sharmil Ghouse, Global Head of TTO (Thermal Transfer Overprinting) and P&A (Print and Apply) at Domino, expressed enthusiasm about offering this cutting-edge solution to existing and potential customers looking to embrace automation, integration, and heightened traceability. Ghouse added, “The Mx-Series platform builds on our global reputation for excellence – with the quality standards our customers have come to expect from Domino – while delivering a whole new range of capabilities to satisfy new market demands.”
