Cape Town, South Africa (CWBN)_ It was reported by the Daily Maverick that unnamed sources within law enforcement, private investigation and those “familiar with the underworld” have claimed serious and deep-rooted collusion between both global and domestic organised crime, and the local government.

The report reflected that the several high profile assassinations, including that of George Darmanovic in 2018, which have been carried out in the recent years were all linked to the apparent “shadow mafia state” and global organised crime. Much of these allegations have been linked to former President Jacob Zuma and his administration.

Darmanovic was notorious as a dangerous double agent and an information peddler killed in New Belgrade, Serbia in 2018, despite the fact he was contracted as a secret service operative by the South African intelligence circles.

Moreover, it was also reported that Darmanovic was killed for carrying out investigations into South African underworld. Stretan Matejic and Sasa Durdanovic were convicted for the murder, however, were acquitted in November this year. The third suspect, Dejan Stankovic, was also killed in Serbia a month after the murder of Darmanovic.

In addition, the news report noted that the South African cartels are also linked to operation and incident in several other countries, including Cuba, Italy, US and Brail.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Zuma’s supporters are making a strong push for the dismissal of the bribery and corruption charges against the former president concerning an arms deals made with the French arms company, Thales Group.

The case was postposed about a week ago “by mutual agreement” and has not been authorised by the court.
