India (Commonwealth Union)_ Air pollution poses a grave threat to human health. In addition to causing sore throats and eye discomfort, air pollution has been linked to respiratory and even heart problems. Therefore, it is more important than ever to adhere to a balanced and immunity-boosting diet. According to dietician Pooja Makhija, eating the appropriate foods may protect the body from biological harm. In an Instagram post, she listed four “warrior meals” that can aid your body in combating harmful toxins. The following foods are recommended to be added to your diet to successfully combat air pollution.
Broccoli

Add broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables in your diet, such as cauliflower, Pak Choy, and cabbage. They are rich in sulforaphane, which aids in the removal of benzene from the body. Benzene is one of the most harmful air pollutants. These veggies are also abundant in vitamin C and beta-carotene, which will strengthen the immune system.
Flax Seeds

They are rich in phytoestrogens and omega3 compounds. According to the nutritionist, many studies have demonstrated that flaxseeds diminish asthmatic patients’ allergic reactions and, as a result, minimize the impact of pollution. She also recommended consuming two teaspoons of soaked flax seeds daily.
Amla

It is one of the top and most important warrior foods. The fruit is abundant in vitamin C concentration, and protects cellular damage by environmental pollutants. The nutritionist advises adding amla juice to your regular diet.
Curcumin

Curcumin is the most active component of turmeric, and is vital for combating air pollution. Makhija recommends a supplement of 500 milligrams of curcumin as opposed to simply adding haldi to milk or water. According to the health professional, a large dose is required to prevent anti-inflammatory effects and lung infection.
