Free State Education MEC

-

AFRICA (Commonwealth Union) – There have been some bad things happening in Africa in the last few days. This does not mean to say that there isn’t any good happening. However, sometimes no matter how much good is happening the smallest bad thing makes it look like the bad outweighs the good.

According to the new demands on Member of the Executive Council Tate Makgoe, it seems that even from the bad situation there will be some kind of good coming out of it. The bad news here that is discussed by the media is the stabbing of a teacher by a student. Now Makgoe has been fighting for free state education since he came into office stating that education is a fundamental right no matter the age of the pupil.

However, he is not just speaking of primary and secondary education, no, the man wants free education even for trained pros. This is simple to understand really. What Makgoe is saying is that with this is that the law needs to make sure that all the people joining the system are given the same education.

What he says does make sense. If we take the stabbing the simple 35-year-old by a student, was also the adult that had adopted the young man under the government bill of learner support programme. Now the law is a little unclear as to how the guilty should be charged.

There was also the fact that when on the scene there wasn’t enough ground support from the legal side as students can’t afford to go to law school. So, what does this mean? Well, to Makgoe it means if free state education is provided, then these delays won’t take place. Owing to the legal delay now this deceased person trial has been delayed, which means this whole thing will keep going on with no actual end in sight.
