Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, one of India’s most celebrated actresses, has been honored with a unique tribute from the Netherlands. In a special gesture to recognize her exceptional beauty, a variety of tulips has been named after the world-renowned actress. This tribute, a lasting symbol of her global appeal, was announced in 2005 by Hans van Driem, the Managing Director of the Netherlands Board of Tourism.

At the time of the announcement, Van Driem shared that the decision to name the tulips after Aishwarya was a tribute to her radiant beauty, which had enchanted millions across the world. He also emphasized that the tulip, a symbol of Holland’s beauty, was the perfect representation for Aishwarya. “The tulip represents all the beautiful things of Holland and no one’s more beautiful here today than Aishwarya Rai,” Van Driem remarked.
