Wellington, New Zealand (CWBN)_ Although modern technology has been used to harness energy from the wind, water and sun, attempts are still not made to harness energy from geo-heat.

However, it was recently announced that a group of geologists in New Zealand are planning out a daring mission, drilling deep into an extinct 11-million-year-old volcano, in the hopes of adding to the short list of clean energy sources.

According to Dr. Mike Palin from the Department of Geology at the Otago University, many cities around the world could benefit from similar deep digging projects of the likes.
