Golden Cylinder award goes to Varna Packaging

Orlando, Florida (Commonwealth Union)_ Varna Limited was created in Sri Lanka as the country’s first different packaging business more than fifty years ago, in 1961. Esmond Wickremesinghe, the chairman of the Lake House, which is housed toward the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon, the nation’s oldest publishing company, is a Sri Lankan businessman and press mogul who created the company.

At the Gravure Scientific Conference 2022, which was put on by the Gravure Association of the Americas (GAA) and the Association of International Metallizers, Coaters, and Laminators, Varna, a bag-in-box manufacturer, was honored with the Golden Cylinder Award in the category of “Groundbreaking Novel Visual kei Printed paper” (AIMCAL). The event just took place in Orlando, United States.

The Golden Cylinder award was given in celebration of the ‘Best of the Best’ of the most imaginative and best quality gravure print projects created by different gravure operations across the world. This is a tribute to Varna’s commitment to offering unique packaging solutions.

“The Golden Cylinder award is an accolade and then a platform allowing Varna to bring the brand of both the local enterprise towards the worldwide stage,” Channa Lalin Wickremesinghe, the managing director of Varna Limited, remarked. “For making this trip possible, I would like to appreciate our esteemed business partners Maliban Group Sri Lanka, Sithara Limited, professional cylinder engraver Lanka Uchen, and other equipment and raw material manufacturers. While I’m feeling proud of myself, let me also make a broader context statement. This recognition opens the doors for marketplaces of tomorrow and inspires others working in our sector throughout the world.”

The competition is performed annually to encourage the gravure procedure and offer peer acknowledgment for technical success in each industrial category, according to Channa Lalin Wickremesinghe, managing director of Varna Limited. Golden Cylinder recognition is a testament to Varna’s unique skills and talents within gravure concentration domains of production, publications, technological innovation as well as packaging and labeling.
