Texas, USA (CU)_ Human lung spheroid cells (LSCs) are used to make nanodecoys . In a COVID-19 macaque model, nanodecoys bind and neutralize the SARS-CoV-2 virus, boosting viral clearance and minimizing lung damage. Nanodecoy treatment imitates the virus’s binding receptor and hence attacks the virus itself. This treatment may be efficacious against new viral strains. The researchers from North Carolina State University (NC State)/UNC-Chapel Hill conducted this study and it was published in Nature Nanotechnology Journal.
