Hindus for America First backs Trump, launches campaign against Harris

-

Diaspora (Commonwealth Union) _A new grassroots organization, Hindus for America First, has announced its endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and plans to campaign against Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris in crucial battleground states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina.

In a statement on Thursday, Utsav Sanduja, the chairman and founder of Hindus for America First, expressed concerns about Kamala Harris’s potential impact on Indo-US relations, should she become President. He argued that Harris could appoint liberal judges to the Supreme Court, which could potentially reverse decisions that affect Asian-American voters. “If Kamala becomes the President of the United States, she might put in some liberal wolves on the bench,” Sanduja claimed.

He also criticized the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of immigration, stating that Harris, as Vice President, has done little to secure the US border, leading to an increase in illegal immigration. “The Biden-Harris administration has not kept the border secure,” he said, attributing this to a rise in crime and drug smuggling, which he argues disproportionately impacts minority communities, including Asian-American business owners.

Sanduja, however, praised Trump’s efforts to reform the immigration system to be more merit-based. He also commended the former president’s focus on strengthening defense and technological ties with India, emphasizing Trump’s “pro-India” stance. Sanduja highlighted Trump’s strong relationship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and noted their collaboration on defense projects that help India counter China’s influence. Unlike Harris, who, according to Sanduja, has made “disparaging remarks” about the Indian government and its people, Trump has refrained from interfering in India’s internal matters.

“Hindus for America First” is mobilizing Hindu voters in key battleground states such as Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada to oppose Harris, arguing that her policies would be detrimental to Indo-US relations. Sanduja reiterated his belief that Harris’s leadership would be “very destabilising for Indo-US relations.”

He also highlighted the global Hindu community’s concerns regarding the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh, urging political leaders to address these issues. He credited Trump for acknowledging the persecution of Hindus in regions like Afghanistan and Pakistan during his presidency, stating, “It was President Trump who took the leadership in acknowledging Hindu genocide.”

With the upcoming elections, Hindus for America First seeks to rally support for Trump among Hindu voters and raise awareness of issues affecting the global Hindu community.
