SG$50,000 for up to 24 hours, beginning from the time the passenger enters the cab, for a premium of 30 cents. Additionally, the coverage will give a cash reimbursement of SG$500 if the policyholder contracts COVID-19 and tests positive through RT-PCR test within 14 days after the trip, and also if the passenger is admitted in hospital for a minimum of three consecutive days following the positive test.

Kelvin Lim, CEO of HL Assurance, expressed optimism about the collaboration with ComfortDelGro. He said, “This partnership with ComfortDelGro Taxi will cement our vision to be a customer-centric general insurer to all consumers. This micro-insurance built on a stackable concept, is the first in Singapore and is a milestone for both organisations as we reach out to serve our customers jointly and ensure sufficient insurance coverage, even by commuting.”

Ang Wei Neng, CEO of ComfortDelGro Taxi, spoke about the accident covers offered by the company. He said, “The well-being of our passengers is a priority, which is why ComfortDelGro Taxi is offering ComfortProtect, which covers both personal accident and COVID-19 at a very affordable premium per ride. Unlike other ride hailing options, where 30 cents is a platform fee, this same amount that our passengers pay is for their benefit. As the only point-to point-transport operator to offer this insurance, we hope it will give our passengers peace of mind when they travel on board our taxis – and even thereafter.”
