Bangladesh (Common Wealth) _ HSBC Bangladesh has been named “International Retail Bank of the Year” and “Best Marketing and Brand Initiative of the Year 2023” by Asian Banking and Finance, a publication for Asian banking and finance executives.

Tanmi Haque, HSBC Bangladesh’s head of wealth and personal banking, recently got an award at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

This distinguished award is a testament to all of our efforts, and it will continue to inspire us to go above and beyond for our consumers,” Haque remarked. According to Md Mahbub ur Rahman, chief executive officer of HSBC Bangladesh, “this recognition will propel us to support our customers with their evolving international banking needs.” The bank was named “International Retail Bank of the Year” for the third time in three years.

The awards recognized the bank’s personal banking expertise as well as its dedication to opening up a world of potential for its customers through worldwide connectivity.

HSBC Holdings plc (Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in full) is a British universal bank and financial services firm headquartered in London, England, with special historical and commercial ties to East Asia and a very international reach. With US$2.953 trillion in assets as of December 2021, it is the largest European bank by total assets, surpassing BNP Paribas.[6]HSBC had $10.8 trillion in assets under custody (AUC) and $4.9 trillion in assets under administration (AUA) in 2021.[4]

HSBC can trace its roots back to an early trading house in British early Kong. In Shanghai, The bank first established branches in Shanghai in 1865 and was formally founded in 1866.The current parent legal company, HSBC Holdings plc, was founded in London in 1991, and the historic Hong Kong-based bank whose initials the firm takes its name became a fully-owned subsidiary of that entity. The next year (1992), HSBC acquired Midland Bank, becoming one of the largest domestic banks in the United Kingdom.

HSBC has offices, branches, and subsidiaries in 64 countries and territories, servicing about 40 million customers throughout Africa, Asia, Oceania, Europe, North America, and South America.It was placed 20th in the world in the Forbes rankings of large corporations based on revenue, profits, assets, and market value as of 2023.
