In the midst of chaos caused in US some Trump officials leave ship while others stay to do damage control

-

WASHINGTON D.C (CU) _ There was a mob attack on the US capitol yesterday which caused many of the senior officials from trumps office to resign as they were shocked, horrified and disgusted as to how Trump was making the situation worse than better by initially egging them on and then afterwards not condemning their acts or apologizing to the people of America for what happened.

There were phone calls mere hours after this attack and discussions began as to bringing about the 25th amendment that could remove trump the Oval office. There was a full list of aides and senior officials who would be giving in their resignation and the list only kept growing as of Thursday. It was stated by one of the aides that Trump had made a public announcement of the promise to leave in a decent manner to stop the resignations from further growing and to calm the rumors of the president being forcefully removed from office.

Some of the higher officials that received such phone calls were Secretary of state Mike Pompeo, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe and National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien. All three men were given the same message to say that it was important that stay on and give their fullest support to the government and the national security aspect.

Matt Pottinger who was Trump’s Deputy National Security Adviser had stepped down on Wednesday after tendering his resignation from office. It seems that Pompeo, Ratcliffe and O’Brien has made a decision on Thursday not to abandon ship out of concern for national security even though they like all the other were shocked to see what happened at Capitol Hill.

The senior official from Trumps office said that he was disgusted and horrified as to what happened on Wednesday but has refused to leave office only because he is worried about what will happen to the country if there is no one to stop this kind of rioting and thuggery.

Another tendered resignation comes from Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao who will be out of office effective Monday as she is deeply troubled by what happened and states that what happened in the Capitol Building could have been entirely avoidable. Chao also stated that she took her time to reflect on what happened and made the right decision after consulting her staff and her husband, Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell.

Mick Mulvaney had spoken to Mike Pompeo Wednesday night to tender resignation claiming that he cannot stay after what he saw and what the President was fine with happening. With this follower Stephanie Grisham the first lady’s chief of staff. On Thursday morning it was confirmed by Trump Administration that John Costello, the Commerce Department’s deputy assistant secretary for intelligence and security and resigned along with Ryan Tully, senior director for European and Russian Affairs and Tyler Goodspeed, the acting chairman of the Counsel of Economic Advisers at the White House.

Tt was shocking how Trump supported the rioters and what they did in a speech after the breach of Capitol Hill on didn’t even try too hard to calm down the shockwaves and horrors people were going through. At first he was happy about making a statement to leave peacefully even after it was confirmed by congress that President Elect Joe Biden had in fact won on electoral collages.

It was advised to president Trump that he should promise not to fight the election results any longer and to prosecute the protestors that made mockery and defamed Capitol Hill. We see that even though he agreed to transfer power Trump will still continue the fight as he stated that “I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted.”
