New Delhi, India (CU)_ Celebrating the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered his Independence Day 2022 speech to the nation from the ancient Red Fort in the capital city of Delhi. During his address, he highlighted the need for the country to take different initiatives to put “India first.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi further committed to achieving the objective of our country’s freedom fighters by 2047.

During his 75th Independence Day address, the prime minister recalled the sacrifices of various independence warriors, including Rani Laxmibai and Bhagat Singh, as well as Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for the country. Moreover, he stated that “naari shakti” (women power) can take the nation to new heights. During his speech on India’s future during the Independence Day celebration, the prime minister made five bold promises to the nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised to make India a more developed and internationally competitive nation within the next quarter-century. He asked the nation’s younger generation to dedicate the next 25 years of their lives to the growth and prosperity of the country.

According to the prime minister of India, there should not be any mark of slavery in our thoughts or that we should not attempt to imitate others. Moreover, he stated that we are not required to maintain any traces of slavery in the nation.
During his address on Independence Day 2022, Prime Minister Modi stated that we should always be proud of our history. The prime minister hoisted the national flag and addressed the nation from Red Fort. He said, “Apni dharti se judenge tabhi toh uncha udenge.”

Prime Minister Modi urged all citizens to remember the country’s “ekta and ekjutta”, which is unity and solidarity. He also created the motto, “ek barat shresth bharat”, meaning one nation, proud nation.
Regarding the Independence Day pledge of each Indian citizen, PM Narendra Modi stated, “The fifth pledge is the duty of citizens. It is the duty of people to save electricity and water.” He added that this pledge extends to every single Indian, including the prime minister.
