Indian American becomes the first South Asian Judge in California Court

California, USA (CU)_ Indian American Vaibhav Mittal was appointed as a judge to the Orange County Superior Court by California Governor Jerry Brown. Mittal was the first person of South Asian ancestry to be elected to this position. The 39-year-old Democrat was appointed as the County Court’s next judge, replacing Judge Ronald L Bauer. He formerly served as an Assistant US Attorney for the Central District of California until being elevated to Deputy Chief post, a position he has held since 2019.
