New York, USA (CU)_ As India faces an extreme second wave of the pandemic, an Indian-American non-profit organization has raised around $4.7 million funds via social media for COVID-19 relief initiatives. A Hindu faith-based humanitarian non-profit organization, Sewa International USA, which raised the above funds said, “This is a collective effort that can save lives, defeat hunger, assure distressed people, and help India in its decisive fight against COVID-19”. Sewa on Tuesday picked up a shipment containing 2,184 oxygen concentrators to deliver to India.

According to the statement of the organization, over 66,700 Indian-Americans came forward to donate $4.7 million for COVID-19 relief measures in India within 100 hours after the online fund-raising drive began.
