Arbuja, Nigeria (CWBN)_ The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday (05th December) approved list of candidates for today’s legislative by-elections for eleven states in the country.

As per the regulatory body, the list includes both male and female candidates; the only controversial candidate on it being Ifeanyi Ararume from the Imo North district. Meanwhile, the Nigerian Court of Appeal also cleared Frank Ibezim in time for the by-elections.

However, it was apparent in the listing that the number of male candidates nominated severely outweighed the number of female nominees with some states reporting a thirteen to one ratio. However, Isi-Uzo of the Enugu State recorded a six to three ratio; the least recorded difference.
