TONGA – In the current day and age where most economies tend to make money on tourism, they are trying their best to make the necessary and needed changes to their countries so that tourists will find it more attractive to visit.

There have been instances where tourists won’t return to a certain part of the world because the country is very much under developed and the dream vacation was more of a vacation of nightmares.

Tonga has always been a touristy destination because the country has its own unique beauty and the slow pace of the way the people are go down well with anyone looking to sort of unwind and breath.

Tonga is known for its rocky unbuilt road and narrow path ways but all that is about to change as Police say the 35km-long Taufa’ahau Road which runs through Nuku’alofa’s CBD is being closed so that road signs and markings can be put up.

These markings are needed as this main road is used by tourist as well the locals and it could get dangerous if there are no signs especially during night time. The other side to this is that would this cause an inconvenience for people who are traveling to and from the airport.

What alternative plans have the officials made to make sure that there will be another convenient route for people to take with the closure of the main road.

No timeframe has been mentioned for when the road will re-open.

Taufa’ahau Road is the only paved road that connects Nuku’alofa to Tonga’s main airport.
