Logan Hospital nominated as new low-risk exposure site

Canberra, Australia (CU)_ According to the authorities, as the covid cluster is now under control, this famous Queensland hospital has been nominated as a new exposure venue. This week, Queensland registered zero new locally acquired Covid-19 cases, making Logan Hospital a new low-risk exposure venue.

According to the authorities, despite the new venue’s appearance on the contact-tracing list, they are certain the cluster is under control as they enter the second week of limitations. According to Queensland Health, everyone who entered the front main door through the main corridor of Logan Hospital’s pregnancy clinic during particular times on Monday June 28 has a low risk contact. The exposure times are 8.30 am to 8.40 am, and again 9.20 am to 9.30 am. Anyone present there within those ten minutes must be checked, and in case of reporting symptoms, they must remain isolated until a negative result is received.

After a snap lockdown which was enforced to prevent the transmission of Alpha strain virus in the community, Southeast Queensland relaxed the lockdown a week ago. According to the chief health officer Jeannette Young, around 8679 people underwent quarantine, and she appreciated them for ensuring the safety of others. Dr Young said, “We are not totally out of it yet. We must keep up quarantine and testing. That working together as Queenslanders that we have been doing to keep all of us safe … Thank you very much.”

According to Health Minister Yvette D’Ath, there may be more cases linked to the Alpha cluster; however, authorities are convinced they have eradicated all risk. She said, “The lockdown that we had allowed us to contact trace and to contain those contacts into quarantine, so that they are already away from the community when they were infectious. This is a great outcome for everyone.”

Common buildings and other facilities where people mostly visit such as shopping malls, theaters, beauty salons, indoor and outdoor events, gyms and indoor sports, hotels, government facilities, weddings and funerals, churches, universities and TAFE, and hospitals and aged care are now asked to use the state’s QR Check In Qld app to keep track of the visitors.
