Malaysia and Kazakhstan plan to expand cooperation in the field science and education

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (CU)_ A virtual ceremony for the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of education and science was organized on 15 February 2021 with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Malaysia. The MoC was signed between Utebayev Atyrau Oil and Gas University and Petronas University of Technology, one of Malaysia’s leading universities in the field of oil and gas.

The following plans were incorporated within the memorandum setting. Cooperation in the field of education and science will be developed; students and teachers will have access to a scientific and technological base; laboratories and libraries at two universities will be provided with continuous support for scientific projects; and numerous activities will be held on a regular basis to share experiences between scientists and teachers of two universities.

According to the negotiations made previously by the Embassy and in compliance with the agreements reached between universities, it was said that 5 students from Atyrau Oil and Gas University under the exchange program are studying at the University Technology Petronas as of 30 December 2020. Gulzada Shakulikova, the Rector of Utebayev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas and Dr Mohamed Ibrahim, the Vice-Chancellor of University Technology Petronas, attended the ceremony.
