Bangladesh (Commonwealth Union)_ A 35-year-old Bangladeshi beggar, Moru Mia, has attracted widespread attention online after claiming that he has 21 wives. While his unusual family arrangement has sparked curiosity and jokes on social media, questions remain about how he manages such a large household while struggling to make ends meet. Speaking to local media, Moru said he did not actively seek out his marriages. According to him, the women approached him with proposals, and he accepted because he felt rejecting them would be disrespectful. He also claimed that some of the women were older than him.

Despite having 21 wives, Moru reportedly lives in a small, one-room hut and depends mainly on begging for his livelihood. With his less income, it is difficult to support such a large family. But it’s unclear how the family splits expenses, food and other everyday responsibilities. When Moru goes for begging, he is said to have one wife with him, and the others take their turn. This arrangement appears to be part of how the family manages its everyday activities, although little is known about how they organise their household responsibilities.

Moru’s large family also presents a more personal challenge. During an interview, Moru reportedly struggled to remember all his wives’ names. He could recall only a few, including Sheila, Nargis, Selena, Aalia, Tara, Jyotsna, Rabia and Parul. His admission highlighted the difficulties of keeping track of so many relationships. The story has drawn mixed reactions online. Some users joked about his popularity, while others suggested that he may have offered companionship to women who had struggled to find partners.
Although the claims have generated considerable interest, many practical questions remain unanswered. How Moru maintains relationships with 21 wives and manages the demands of daily life on a limited income is still unclear. Beyond the viral headlines, his story raises questions about financial hardship, companionship and the realities of supporting a large family.
