Meet the youngest Self-Made Indian American businesswoman!

California, USA (CU)_ Neha Narkhede, a native of Pune and co-founder of the streaming data technology business Confluent, was placed in the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022, which was published recently. The 37-year-old Indian-American lady is the youngest self-made businesswoman who made it to the list of affluent people.

Ms. Narkhede was raised in Pune, Maharashtra, and attended the Georgia Institute of Technology to study computer science. In addition to co-founding Confluent, Ms. Narkhede also co-designed the open-source messaging system Apache Kafka. She currently serves as an investor and consultant for several technological firms. Neha Narkhede ranks 336 on the Hurun India Rich List with an estimated fortune of INR 4,700 crore.

Prior to launching her own business, Ms. Narkhede served at LinkedIn and Oracle, where she contributed to the development of the Apache Kafka software. The program assists LinkedIn in customizing the user experience. Forbes claimed that the entrepreneur and her team then opted to employ the technology in other industries and formed Confluent in 2014. Ms. Narkhede relocated to the United States about fifteen years back and earned a Master of Science in technology from Georgia Tech. She also graduated from the University of Pune with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Forbes placed the businesswoman at number 57 on its list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women for 2022. In 2018, Forbes also recognized Neha Narkhede as one of the world’s top 50 women in technology. According to Hurun India, the list includes as many as 1,103 people with a fortune of INR 1,000 crore. Compared to the previous year, the number of wealthy people has increased by 96 this year.
