Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ Actor Vicky Kaushal has expressed enthusiastic support for Sriram Raghavan’s latest thriller, “Merry Christmas,” which premiered in theaters today. Featuring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in key roles, the film garnered a special shout-out from Vicky Kaushal on its opening day. Praising his wife Katrina’s performance, Kaushal shared, “Merry Christmas, everyone! So freaking proud of you, love, for how beautifully you have surrendered yourself to Sriram Sir’s masterful storytelling and to the complexities of ‘Maria’… Her rawness, her mystery, her magic… All done with such honesty and nuance!” Kaushal hailed Kaif’s dance performance, declaring it her “truly best work till date.”

In his appreciation for Vijay Sethupathi‘s role in the film, Kaushal marveled at the actor’s ability to infuse childlike innocence into his characters, describing it as a pure joy to witness. The National Award-winning actor extended his compliments to the film’s director, Sriram Raghavan, and the whole cast, including Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, and Radhika Apte. Kaushal expressed anticipation for the audience’s reaction to the thrilling, fun ride, particularly highlighting the film’s end.

Notably, “Merry Christmas” was shot in two languages, featuring different supporting actors. The Hindi version includes Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, while the Tamil rendition stars Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams. As the film hits theaters, this collaboration marks the first-time pairing of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in a cinematic venture. In terms of work, Katrina Kaif’s recent film Tiger 3 still roaring in theaters.
Filmmaker Atlee also gave a shoutout to the film, noting that he and Vijay Sethupathi collaborated on the 2023 blockbuster Jawan. Atlee took to his Instagram story and shared that “Merry Christmas” has been dominating his mind for quite some time. He added that the narrative was breathtaking suspense interwoven with a tender love story, hailing Vijay Sethupathi’s climax performance as phenomenal and a delight to watch. He thanked the actor for being an inspiration and wished to continue seeing his exquisite films. He also lauded the stunning performance of Katrina Kaif. Finally, he praised the filmmaker Raghavan Sriram for his spectacular job, hailing the movie as an absolute classic in every way and wishing the film to be a blockbuster.
