More climate change action is required in 2023

-

Canada _ (Commonwealth Union) _ Global climate change is one of the most important environmental issues confronting the globe today. It is produced by rising quantities of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, in the Earth’s atmosphere, which traps heat and causes the world to warm. This warming is having a wide variety of negative consequences on the ecosystem, including rising sea levels, more frequent and severe extreme weather events like hurricanes and floods, and changes in the distribution and behavior of plants and animals.

The primary driver of global climate change is the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas, which emit massive volumes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Deforestation, agriculture, and other human activities all add to the situation.

To combat global climate change, we must drastically cut our greenhouse gas emissions and move to renewable energy sources. This will necessitate the collaboration of governments, corporations, and individuals all around the world.

Climate change is a long-term alteration in average weather patterns that has been observed over time. The Earth’s climate is naturally unpredictable and has varied throughout history, but the current rate of warming is unprecedented in the perspective of the last few thousand years. The major driver of modern climate change is an increase in atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases, which trap heat from the sun and cause the Earth’s surface to warm.

Human actions, such as the use of fossil fuels and deforestation, are the primary contributors of these greenhouse gases. The combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas emits carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, whereas deforestation lowers trees’ ability to absorb carbon dioxide.

Climate change has a number of negative consequences on the ecosystem, including more frequent and severe heatwaves, droughts, and storms, as well as increasing sea levels and biodiversity loss. Individuals and governments must take more action in 2023 to cut greenhouse gas emissions and address the effects of climate change.
