More time to apply for $10 billion diaspora fund

-

Diaspora (Commonwealth Union) _ The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment has decided to extend the deadline for companies interested in managing the $10 billion diaspora fund. Originally scheduled for May 6, 2024, the deadline has now been moved to May 13, 2024, providing stakeholders with an additional week to prepare their applications.

Minister Doris Nkeiruka Uzoka-Anite announced this development through a circular issued on Thursday, May 2, in Abuja. The extension aims to accommodate stakeholders who may require more time to align their submissions with the established guidelines for the fund, ensuring a fair and inclusive process.

Prospective candidates are strongly urged to utilize this extended period effectively, ensuring that their submissions are thorough, well-prepared, and competitive. Minister Uzoka-Anite emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified criteria outlined for the fund, as this will be pivotal in the evaluation process.

The Expression of Interest (EOI) remains open to fund managers interested in leading the creation and implementation of a multi-sectoral, multinational investment fund driven by the private sector. Stakeholders are encouraged to take this opportunity to fine-tune their submissions, ensuring that they are closely aligned with the outlined criteria and objectives of the fund.

For any inquiries or additional details, interested parties are advised to reach out to the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment during regular office hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), where dedicated personnel will be available to provide assistance and guidance.

Minister Uzoka-Anite had previously invited eligible firms to express their interest in offering services as Nigeria diaspora fund managers, announcing the opportunity via her official platform. This extension underscores the ministry’s commitment to transparency and fairness in the selection process for the management of the diaspora fund, ensuring that all qualified stakeholders have adequate time to participate effectively.
