Negros Occidental…invite

-

In a remarkable initiative aimed at empowering young professionals, the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division (NOSPD), under the auspices of the Office of the Governor, is now inviting applications for its Study Now, Pay Later – Northern Territory, Australia Scholarship program focused on Commercial Cookery. This unique opportunity promises to equip aspiring culinarians with world-class education and skills, all within a supportive and enriching environment.

Applicants for the Commercial Cookery program are required to possess a degree in Culinary, Hospitality Management, or Hotel and Restaurant Management, coupled with demonstrable experience in actual commercial cookery. Additionally, candidates should be single, aged between 22 to 35 years, and hold residency within the province of Negros Occidental. An exemplary work ethic, keen alertness, exceptional communication skills, as well as patience and resourcefulness, are prerequisites. Moreover, candidates must exhibit outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities, alongside possessing an untarnished criminal record.

Proficiency in the English language, both written and oral, is vital for success in this program. As such, candidates will need to pass the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) as part of the application process. Those meeting these stringent criteria will have the opportunity to pursue their studies at the esteemed International College of Advanced Education (ICAE).

Sean Mahoney, Chief Executive Officer of ICAE, extolled the exceptional care and respect afforded to students at his institution. He emphasized that ICAE imparts world-class education, endowing graduates with qualifications in high demand within the Northern Territory.

Under this program, the Provincial Government generously covers the one-way travel expenses to Australia, as well as tuition and associated fees. Given the ‘Study Now, Pay Later’ nature of this initiative, successful candidates will reimburse the Provincial Government through a structured installment scheme, guided by the schedule provided by NOSPD.

Karen Dinsay, Head of NOSPD, shared a success story from the inaugural batch of scholars. Joery Rio, hailing from Talisay City, was granted his Permanent Residency Visa last year and is presently serving as a highly regarded instructor at ICAE while awaiting Australian citizenship. This achievement is a testament to the program’s efficacy and its potential to transform lives.

Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II, Provincial Administrator, expressed his elation at Sean Mahoney’s decision to appoint Rio, a proud Negrense, as an instructor at ICAE. This development underscores the indomitable spirit, skills, and global competitiveness of Negrenses.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson expressed his profound satisfaction with the collaborative efforts between Negros Occidental and the Northern Territory, which have substantially improved the lives of scholars and their families. He lauded the commendable progress of the second batch of scholars, who embarked on their journey to Darwin in May, attributing their success to the steadfast support of the Negrense community, led by Consul Januario John Rivas.

Governor Lacson affirmed his commitment to continue assisting young Negrense professionals who meet the criteria for enrollment at ICAE, thereby affording them access to world-class education in Commercial Cookery.

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their comprehensive application packages, which should include a resume, diploma, birth certificate, and relevant work-related certificates or current employment certification. These documents can be lodged at the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division, located on the 2nd Floor of the Multi-Purpose Building (beside NBI) on Aguinaldo Street, Bacolod City.

This pioneering initiative not only provides a gateway to exceptional education but also underscores the commitment of the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division to nurturing talent and fostering global competitiveness among Negrense youth. With the Study Now, Pay Later program, a brighter future in Commercial Cookery beckons for those with the passion and dedication to seize this opportunity.
