Nigerian government reaffirms commitment to support MSMEs

Director General also applauded Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo for taking the initiative in launching MSMEs Clinics in the West African nation with the aim of strengthening MSMEs through government intervention and rewarding the best performers in the industry. According to Salim, his agency is currently building capacity for Halal standards, adding that products tested and certified by the SON, will help scale up products for export to countries which recognise the standards, thereby contributing to the growth of the Nigerian Economy immensely.

The winner of the award last year, Zainab Ismaila, the Managing Director ZIA Spices, was also among those who attended the event in Abuja. Sharing her views with the attendees, Ismaila expressed gratitude towards the SON, as well as the Gombe State Office for encouraging her for her entrepreneurial efforts and for the role played by the agencies in maintaining quality standards and good manufacturing practices among MSMEs.

In his remarks, the Regional Coordinator for the North East, Adamu Abba Bauchi, commended the SON Director General for his support to the regional office, he also thanked the Gombe State Coordinator for the support given to the local businesses, particularly through the MSMEs Clinics.
