Nigerian tertiary education to be strike free

-

NIGERIA (Commonwealth Union) – it’s not unheard of for countries to have problems with students regarding their education. However, most often than not these problems arise in the tertiary education sector and it makes things very difficult for the staff of the universities. For example, if the strike continues with no end in sight, that means that the students won’t be able to complete their education on time, which can then lead to the intake for the new students being minimized to stay in international standards as to how many students can be in a class room.

Now the Non – Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutes (NASU) has finally come up with a list of condition that have to be put in place for them to end the strikes that have been going on in the Universities. These conditions have to be put in place by the federal government as soon as possible or the strikes will continue until their condition are met.

The reason for this is that unions all over Nigeria have started striking and making things very difficult for all parties. The students suffer because their education comes to a standstill which means their futures get altered by a few months. This could lead to problems in finding employment. NASU does not want this to happen.

They want educational institutes to do what’s right by the students. This would mean putting a stop to the current strike culture. Imagine the loss that universities along with the students are incurring when strikes happen. The NASU is just trying to make everything go smoothly for both parties. Of course, the demands have not been released to the press yet, but they are hopeful that these demands will help in curbing the strikes.
