Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ Sara Arjun, once the highest-paid child artist, has made her comeback now. But this time, she is not a child artist but the heroine of one of the top Bollywood stars. At just 20, Sara Arjun is making her debut in Bollywood, stepping into the spotlight once again. This time she is the heroine of Ranveer Singh in Dhurandhar, a high-profile spy thriller based on true events. The film’s first look was released on June 6, coinciding with Ranveer’s 40th birthday, and quickly sparked curiosity across social media about the identity of the new face beside the Bollywood star.

Sara is not new to acting. It runs in her blood. She is the daughter of actor Raj Arjun, who has played roles in movies like Secret Superstar, Thalaivii, and Love Hostel. Sara began her career early, appearing in commercials for brands like McDonald’s before transitioning to films. She made her Hindi film debut in 2011 with 404, and the same year, she starred in Tamil director A.L. Vijay’s Deiva Thirumagal. At just six, she delivered a moving performance as the daughter of a mentally challenged father, played by Vikram. Vijay brought her back for the 2014 family drama Saivam, which was later remade in Telugu as Dagudumootha Dandakor, with Sara reprising her role.

Sara has featured in several Bollywood movies, including supporting roles in Ek Thi Daayan in 2013 and Jai Ho in 2014, and a younger version of Sonam Kapoor in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga in 2019. In 2023, she played the young Nandini role, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s young character in Mani Ratnam’s epic Ponniyin Selvan series. Sara reportedly earned ₹10 crore by 2023, making her the highest-paid child actor in India. Since then, she has continued to take on diverse roles, including the teen musical Magic in 2024, directed by Jersey’s Gowtam Tinnanuri, and earlier, the Malayalam hit Ann Maria Kalippilaanu in 2016 and Saand Ki Aankh in 2019.
In Dhurandhar, Sara appears to be the sole female presence among a cast that includes R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Akshaye Khanna. While details of her character remain under wraps, her casting hints at a key role in the plot. Directed and produced by Aditya Dhar under B62 Studios and presented by Jio Studios, Dhurandhar is slated for theatrical release on December 5.
