Pakistan will support Chinese businesses!

According to the Pakistan media, Prime Minister Khan said that the government will support Chinese businesses and investments in the country. He said, “We will support Chinese businesses in Pakistan on a priority basis and are grateful to them for their keen interest in accelerating their investment in special economic zones”.

Khan was told that many Chinese businessmen were all prepared to invest and establish businesses in the glass, ceramics, and information technology sectors in Pakistan, as OPPO, a top Chinese consumer electronics and mobile phone company, is planning to establish a mobile phone manufacturing plant as well as a research and development facility in the country.

Its plan to make mobile phones in Pakistan will enable the government to save significant amounts of foreign exchange money on smartphone imports while also providing job opportunities for tech graduates. Energy Minister Mohammad Hammad Azhar, Commerce Adviser Abdul Razak Dawood, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, and other authorities were present at the meeting.

Nong admitted that several concerns had been handled and significant progress had been made after the initial meeting between the prime minister and the Chinese businesses, which took place on September 13. He said, “We will send more positive information to China to encourage more Chinese businessmen to invest in Pakistan”.

According to a Chinese entrepreneur from OPPO, the firm has been operating in Pakistan for over seven years and has invested over USD 150 million in the nation. He stated that similar to other firms, Pakistan provided an excellent space for OPPO to continue investing there, and the discussion with the prime minister enabled a rapid settlement of the problems. He expressed gratitude to the prime minister for assisting Chinese businessmen and providing them with more opportunities. He commented, “If anybody comes to me and ask should they invest in Pakistan, I will say yes”.
