PhonePe gains IRDAI approval to market insurance products

Hyderabad, India (CU)_ According to the company’s statement, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has granted PhonePe an insurance brokerage license. PhonePe, an online payments platform, announced that it has acquired preliminary authorisation from IRDAI to act as a broker for life and general insurance products. PhonePe claims that as a result of this, it can now provide insurance advice to its 300 million customers.
