PM Johnson ‘very worried’ ahead of climate summit

LONDON (CU)_Last week, the Kremlin revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be attending the COP26 scheduled to be held in Glasgow, a decision seen as a blow to efforts to gather world leaders whose influence would be critical to reducing emissions across the planet. According to Downing Street, the decision was made “in the light of the coronavirus situation”, and since then British Prime Minister Boris Johnson appears to lowered his expectations regarding the success of the global summit, with Chinese President Xi Jinping yet to confirm his attendance for the event as well.
