PM Modi to disburse PM CARES orphan benefits to children!

New Delhi, India (CU)_ Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute rewards under the PM CARES for Children Scheme through video conferencing today. Accordingly, the PM will distribute scholarships to school students. Additionally, he will also give out a passbook for PM CARES for Children and an Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana health card to the children during the program.

The PM CARES for Children Scheme was introduced by the Prime Minister on May 29, 2021 to assist youngsters who have lost both parents, legal guardian, adoptive parents, or surviving parent as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic between March 11, 2020 and February 28, 2022. The purpose of the Scheme is to provide full care and protection for children on a steady basis by giving them accommodation, education, and scholarships. The plan would provide them with a financial support of INR 10 lakh upon reaching the age of 23 and health insurance to ensure their welfare.

A website called pmcaresforchildren.in was developed to register the data of the children under the scheme. The platform is a single-window system that streamlines the approval procedure and all beneficiary support. Tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with orphans around the nation via video conference.

In Uttar Pradesh, the program has become an invaluable resource to these youngsters. According to media reports, several children in Uttar Pradesh lost their parents during the Covid pandemic, and the PM Cares for Children initiative assured the children’s complete care and protection. According to the media statement from Renu Yadav, district probationary officer of Unnao district, three youngsters in the district have benefited from the program, which has been a godsend for them.

At present, 441 of these children in the state are being benefited under this program, and they no longer have to worry about their future. A total of 43 beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s Care for Children Scheme from the district of Thane will be included in this initiative through the district collector office. Orphans older than 18 years will be physically present at the collection office, while those less than 18 years will participate virtually.
