New Delhi, India (CU)_ During his 6-hour stay in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 31 projects worth INR 558 crore and will also lay the foundation for 13 new development projects worth INR 1,220 crore and will then attend a public meeting at Sampurnanand Sports stadium. As many as 2,000 athletes throughout the state will attend the meeting.
This will be his first visit to his parliamentary constituency since the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. PM Modi will also launch the Akshaya Patra Mid-Day Meal kitchen at LT College in Varanasi, which aims to benefit schoolkids. The facility has the capacity to prepare lunch for about one lakh kids. Owing to the Prime Minister’s visit to the state, all schools, universities, and educational institutions will be closed by 11 am.

According to district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, “PM Modi’s almost 6-hour stay in his parliamentary constituency will start with taking stock of the Akshya Patra centralized kitchen, where mid-day meals for primary school students are prepared”. Additionally, the plan for the successful implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will also be discussed during the seminar held by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the University Grants Commission and Banaras Hindu University at the Rudraksh Convention Centre.
The Prime Minister will also open the three-day Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam, which will adopt the Varanasi Declaration on Higher Education that aims to demonstrate India’s broad vision and renewed dedication to achieve the higher education system’s goals. Governor Anandiben Patel of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan will also participate in the conference.

Sharma stated that Modi will then pay a visit to the neighboring Sampurnanand sports stadium to attend a public meeting. The other projects that will be launched today are initiatives under the Smart City Mission, the conversion of 500 boats’ diesel and petrol engines to CNG, a tourist facility and market complex at Dashashwamedh Ghat, the construction of houses for the economically disadvantaged, and other road and infrastructure projects.
