Princess of Wales’s road to recovery could take ‘up to nine months’

United Kingdom (Commonwealth Union)_The road to recovery could be a long one for the Princess of Wales, who recently returned home after undergoing abdominal surgery.   A medical expert has now warned that the royal should take it easy.

Although the Princess of Wales is keen to resume royal duties as soon as possible, a medical expert has warned that Princess Catherine may take several months to return to full health.

A statement from Kensington Palace released upon her return however, said: “Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

An abdominal surgery expert has explained Kate’s health issues are more complicated than they may seem.

The Princess of Wales who underwent planned abdominal surgery Last month, at the London Clinic and remained there to recover for almost two weeks, has been warned by a health expert that her recovery could take up to nine months.

Now back at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor with husband Prince William, Princess Catherine may still have a long road to recovery ahead. A statement from Kensington Palace said that based on the current medical advice, she was unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.

It might however, take even longer for Princess Catherine to fully recover. abdominal surgery expert Shashank Gurjar explained in a chat with Hello Magazine, that Princess Catherine’s health issues were more complex than they appear.

He shared: “With large wounds, we stitch the abdomen together, and the stitch is designed to last for six to nine months. So patients remain aware of some pulling sensation in the abdomen, owing to the stitch, for a good six to nine months after.

“When she goes home, she does need to rely on family members and anybody else who’s around to help her with making sure that, you know, the things that you kind of take for granted.”

Kate’s health issues come at a tough time for the royals, while King Charles had his own health scare, and had to take a break from his work too. But now they are both back home, it seems the family is coming together to help out.

According to the Daily Mail, Princess Catherine left hospital around 11am through a private exit and Prince William drove her home. The report added that their children George, Charlotte and Louis did not visit their mum in hospital but went to school as usual and would have reunited with Kate when they got home.

William and Kate won’t be alone in managing her recovery and looking after the kids. Their staff, including their long-time nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, are there to help out. Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, as well as siblings, Pippa Matthews and James Middleton, are also expected to lend a hand during the next few months while the Princess of Wales recovers.

Just because Princess Catherine has left hospital does not mean her medical care is over. She will remain under the watchful eye of royal doctors and will also receive aftercare from the London Clinic including dedicated physiotherapists with a personalised plan and a video check-up at home with a nurse specialist, the Mirror reports.

NHS advice about recovering from abdominal surgery says that it takes up to two or three months to move around comfortably after a major operation with a large incision. But this will be quicker if the procedure was keyhole surgery.

Patients undergoing major stomach surgery are advised to avoid lifting anything heavier than a completely filled kettle, around 4.4lb-6.6lb (2kg-3kg).

Full strength in their tummy tends to return after about two years. they are told to do sitting and standing exercises to build strength, with a goal of gradually walking more each day until they are able to walk for about half an hour daily within two to three months.
