Hotels (Commonwealth Union) _ Hilton Colombo proudly unveils its newly refurbished rooms and suites, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to showcasing the vibrant culture and rich heritage of Sri Lanka. The 192 refreshed rooms, including Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, and Suites, have been meticulously designed to embrace the country’s diverse tapestry of traditions and craftsmanship.

With a focus on providing guests with an immersive experience, each room exudes a refined aesthetic that seamlessly blends modern comfort with authentic Sri Lankan charm. From the moment guests step into their rooms, they are greeted with panoramic views of iconic landmarks such as the Colombo Harbor and the Galle Face Green, creating a sense of connection to the vibrant cityscape.

Manesh Fernando, General Manager of Hilton Colombo & Area General Manager of Hilton Sri Lanka, expressed his excitement about the unveiling, emphasizing the hotel’s dedication to providing exceptional experiences for guests. The newly renovated rooms reflect a harmonious fusion of modern elegance and traditional craftsmanship, inviting guests to indulge in a truly immersive stay.

Collaborating with Singapore-based interior design consultancy FBEYE Singapore and local architect Nuwan Dias from NUStudios, the design team drew inspiration from Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage. Dumbara-inspired motifs, paying homage to the country’s traditional weaving craftsmanship, adorn the interiors, creating a sense of authenticity and warmth.

Rich teak wood, symbolic of Sri Lanka’s natural beauty, is paired with sleek bronze accents to achieve a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic. Closet doors feature timber veneers reminiscent of the island’s lush forestry, while most furniture is sourced from local artisan Don Carolis, adding a unique touch of authenticity to each space.

Drawing inspiration from the island’s breathtaking natural landscapes, deep blue hues dominate the fabric of the drapery, evoking the serene beauty of Sri Lanka’s skies and oceans. Each room serves as a canvas for collaboration with indigenous Kandyan artisans and craftsmen, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship and artistic heritage of the region. As guests embark on their journey through Hilton Colombo’s newly refurbished rooms, they are invited to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Sri Lanka’s heritage. From the Dumbara-inspired motifs to the locally sourced furnishings, every detail has been thoughtfully curated to ensure a memorable and authentic experience for all who visit
