 the Kenya’s port city of Mombasa and Tanzania’s commercial capital Dar es Salaam. According to Kenyatta, the pipeline will help reduce the cost of electricity and will assist Kenya in its transition to environment-friendly energy.

Experts believe that this proposed developments in bilateral trade and free movement of people will accelerate the economic development of both Kenya and Tanzania, while removing the competition which has been haunting the two countries in the past.

It has also been reported that the two neighbouring nations agreed to collaborate on their battles against the COVID-19 pandemic, as the two leaders announced that they hope to see health officials from the two countries cooperating in order to ease the movement of people and goods. This was not the case under President Magufuli’s term, when Tanzanian authorities denied the presence of the virus in the country and questioned the effectiveness of vaccines.
