Aviation and Airlines (Commonwealth Union) _ Rolls-Royce is considering the possibility of setting up a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in India, aligning with the country’s growing role in the global aviation space. Kishore Jayaraman, the president of Rolls-Royce India and South Asia, has expressed openness to the idea of establishing manufacturing facilities in India. However, he noted that several factors, including the development of a viable business case, would need to be carefully considered. The substantial investment required for such facilities adds complexity to the decision-making process, emphasizing the importance of thoroughly evaluating the economic feasibility and strategic benefits of such a venture.
The booming aviation sector in India has prompted discussions about the potential establishment of local aerospace facilities.
