Satya Nadella wins Padma Bhushan in the United States!

California (Commonwealth Union)_ It is an honor for Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to receive the prestigious Padma Bhushan award, which is the third-highest civilian award in India. The Indian American CEO expects to engage with the people of India to assist them utilize technology more effectively in order to reach great heights.

Nadella was officially honored with the award for his exemplary service by Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad, India’s consul general in San Francisco. Nadella also wishes to visit India in January of next year.

In the beginning of the year, the 55-year-old Indian American CEO of Microsoft was chosen one of the 17 winners. Expressing his pride over winning the award, Nadella said: “It’s an honor to receive a Padma Bhushan Award and to be recognised with so many extraordinary people. I’m thankful to the President, Prime Minister, and people of India and look forward to continuing to work with people across India to help them use technology to achieve more.”

During the discussion, Nadella and Prasad emphasized the importance of digital technology in India’s inclusive growth. According to Microsoft, the meeting centered on India’s development trajectory and its potential to become a world political and technological leader. Following his discussion with Dr. Prasad, Nadella remarked that we live in an era of historic, economic, social and technological transformation. According to him, digital technology will define the subsequent decade. Indian businesses and organizations of all sizes are shifting to technology to help them accomplish more with less, which will eventually result in increased creativity, agility and resiliency.

Nadella, a native of Hyderabad, was appointed as the Microsoft CEO in February 2014. In June 2021, he was also appointed as the chairman of the corporation, a position in which he would determine the agenda for the board. The Padma Awards are one of India’s most prestigious civilian honors,and they are announced every year during Republic Day. According to Microsoft, Nadella will visit India in January 2023, marking his first trip to the nation in over three years.
