Scientists create world’s smallest radio using DNA

Ontario, Canada (CU)_ Scientists have developed the tiniest antenna in the world using synthetic DNA, which measures only five nanometers in length. However, this radio does not emit radio waves, rather, this tiny antenna is used to detect changes in proteins in real time. Additionally, it monitors and sends data through light signals due to its fluorescent nature. According to Chemist Alexis Vallée-Bélisle, “Chemists have realized that DNA can also be employed to build a variety of nanostructures and nanomachines.”
