Singapore Airlines to…2024

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is to enhance its services to Europe in summer 2024, ramping up its services to destinations across its network during the 2024 Northern Summer operating season, which is – March 31st 2024 to October 26th 2024, in support of the strong demand for air travel to its major markets.

The Far Eastern carrier will continue to restore capacity to pre-Covid levels for more long-haul destinations next summer, including the return of the A380 superjumbo to continental Europe for the first time since the pandemic. The airline has already restarted A380 flights to the UK.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will be including the restoration of Airbus A380 flights between Singapore and Frankfurt, reinstating direct services between Singapore and Barcelona, deploying widebody Airbus A350-900 medium-haul aircraft on services to Cairns and Male, and increasing flight frequencies to pre-pandemic levels across multiple points.

Other changes will see SIA restart non-stop flights to Barcelona from 2nd June 2024 with a twice-weekly service.   Currently Barcelona is served via Milan.

Non-stop Singapore-Milan flights will increase from two to four per week from 3 June As part of the capacity increase, while Singapore-Milan-Barcelona frequencies will drop from 5 times per week to thrice weekly from 4th June.

Changes to their European services in summer 2024 will include increasing frequency on the Singapore-Manchester-Houston route returning to the pre-Covid level of 5 times per week from 31 March – up from the current three-per-week schedule.   The Singapore-Copenhagen route, which will resume daily flights from 1 July from its current five services per week will return to pre-Covid capacity.  Outside Europe, SIA is ramping up capacity to Australia, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, the US and Vietnam in its summer 2024 schedule.  Destinations that will either reach or exceed pre-pandemic levels of flight frequencies include Copenhagen (Denmark); Danang (Vietnam); Darwin, Melbourne, Ahmedabad (India); Beijing and Shanghai (China); and Perth (Australia); Dubai (the UAE); Tokyo-Haneda (Japan); as well as Seattle and Houston (the US).

JoAnn Tan, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, at Singapore Airlines, said that with the release of SIA’s Northern Summer schedules, their customers can plan ahead and start to make their travel plans for 2024.  She also stated that their customers will be able to enjoy greater flexibility and choice when they travel with SIA as Singapore Airlines continues to expand and adjust its network in response to demand patterns.
