Uno stated that his ministry is aiming at the international visitors, particularly those from Malaysia and Singapore, with a high-quality and environmentally-friendly golf experience in Belitung. According to him, due to the close proximity between Belitung and Malaysia and Singapore, golf tourism meets market demands. He added, “Especially now that the Indonesian government has implemented a policy that facilitates the arrival of foreign tourists who have been fully vaccinated, (which involves eliminating) PCR tests or quarantine”.

Uno noted that golf tourism in Belitung and Indonesia is generally quite popular since tourists may play the game while also enjoying the surrounding natural breathtaking scenery. He said, “Like in Black Rocks Golf Belitung, where tourists can play golf with Belitung’s unique granite rocks and beautiful beaches as the background”. According to him, tourists with specialized hobbies, such as golf tourists, tend to stay longer and spend more money.
