Sri Lanka-Canada Business Council held business meeting with the High Commissioner of Canada

Sri Lanka (Commonwealth Union)_ The Sri Lanka-Canada Business Council (SLCBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce held a highly interactive business meeting with the High Commissioner of Canada to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Eric Walsh. The meeting was held in cooperation with the High Commission of Canada to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and senior government officials, diplomats, influential business leaders, and other officials participated in the meeting. Further, the event provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to network and discuss potential areas for bilateral collaboration.

During the evening, the High Commissioner emphasized the significance of continued collaboration between Canada and Sri Lanka in multiple areas, such as trade, investment, tourism, and environmental sustainability. The Canada-Sri Lanka Business Council, established in 1990 with Corporations Canada, a branch of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development (ISED) Canada, seeks to assist and promote bilateral trade, investment, tourism, technology sharing, and industrial cooperation between Canada and Sri Lanka. The 32-year-old council is based in Toronto and functions as the major bilateral trade and investment council between Canada and Sri Lanka. Its bilateral partner is the Sri Lanka-Canada Business Council (SLCBC), which operates under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC).
