Summer Entertainment in Darlington!

-

The stage is set for a summer of entertainment in Darlington.  The Summer Stage is in the market during school holidays along with a pop-up park area that is complete with deckchairs and grass flooring, to provide entertainment for the lineup of events planned.

The Summer Stage which has been installed in time for the week-long Darlington by the Sea event is being sponsored by YouFibre.  This beach-themed event will take place from Monday, 24th July to Friday, 28th July.  Families can enjoy free sandcastle building in a giant sandpit in the market square, balloon modelling, face painting, and lots more fun and games. https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/23672238.stage-set-darlington-summer-entertainment/

The family event, which will take place over five days of sun, sea and sand for this ever-popular annual family event, will feature street entertainers, a fairground and a large beach in the market square.  https://www.darlington.gov.uk/your-council/events/event-item/?id=112345

Other events featuring the Summer Stage include Track Tuesdays every Tuesday in August with live music, the Darlington 10k on 6th, the Pride Weekender from Saturday 12th to Monday 14th August, and Film Fridays throughout August.   Film Fridays that are sponsored by Darlington College are taking place throughout the summer with family-friendly free screenings of Frozen, Coco, Mama Mia and other popular movies.  There will be extra film included when Bollywood action drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan (rating 12) is shown on the big screen on Friday, 4th August at 7.45 p.m.

YouFibre community engagement manager Joe Gregory said that the Darlington Council was lining up a fantastic programme of summer events, and they were thrilled to be able to help support it as a headline sponsor of the summer stage.  He stated that such events really bring the community together and that they were very excited to play a part in them.

A Cabinet member for economy, Chris McEwan, said that they had an exciting programme of events across the summer that included something for all the family.  He said he was delighted that YouFibre had chosen to support Darlington and help them keep their calendar of events free for everyone to enjoy.
